Les intérêts de recherche du professeur Jean-Claude Kieffer sont :
- la physique des plasmas produits par laser
- les lasers ultra-rapides (femtoseconde) et ultra-intenses (puissance crête > 500TW)
- l’interaction laser-matière à très haute intensité laser (> 1020W/cm2)
- les sources secondaires de rayonnement (X -THz) et de particules (électrons et protons)
- l’imagerie dynamique moléculaire (femtoseconde & attoseconde)

Biographie
Jean-Claude Kieffer est professeur au Centre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications de l’INRS depuis 1990. Il a été à la direction du Centre de 2006 à 2011.
