Once again INRS University ranked 1st in Canada for research intensity

INRS has once again been ranked first among Canadian universities for research intensity (average funding per faculty member) according to the latest data from RE$EARCH Infosource Inc.

According to the organization’s 2011 list of top performing Canadian universities in terms of research, INRS’ total funding rose from $51.6 million in 2009 to nearly $65 million in 2010—a 25.8% increase.

This increase in research funding catapults INRS well ahead of other Canadian universities in terms of research intensity. In 2010, average funding per professor at INRS spiked at $424,800, compared with $331,100 in 2009.

“These results attest to the expertise of our professors and their research teams. They also demonstrate the importance of INRS’ research in the fields of health, environment, energy, nanotechnology, telecommunications, and social sciences. Our professors are backed by our world-class research facilities and collaborations with major national and international research partners,” asserted INRS Director General, Daniel Coderre.
