Professor Federico Rosei of INRS has been honoured with two new international distinctions. He was recently elected as an Associate Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, in addition to being named a Corresponding Academician of the Mexican Academy of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering Section). This is the first time an INRS researcher has received these prominent distinctions, which illustrate the importance and global impact of his scientific contributions.

Professor Rosei holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Materials and is internationally recognized for his expertise in the fabrication, processing, and characterization of inorganic, organic and biocompatible nanomaterials. His research has led to scientific and technological advances in the areas of green energy, electronics, health, and photonics. His work has also earned him the distinction of being inducted as a member of various prestigious national and international academies and societies in recent years, including the Royal Society of Canada, the European Academy of Sciences and the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
