INRS
We play an active role in Québec's economic, social, and cultural development.
For a fourth consecutive year, INRS (Institut national de la recherche scientifique) has been ranked first among Quebec universities and second among Canadian universities for research intensity (funding per faculty member) according to the latest data by Re$earch Infosource Inc.
According to the organization’s 2010 list of top performing Canadian universities in terms of research, INRS held onto the top spot for Quebec, with an average of $331,100 in funding per faculty member. INRS received nearly $52 million in research funding in 2009 from federal and provincial organizations as well as in contracts from the private sector.
“We are extremely proud of our research performance. These results acknowledge the expertise of our research professors and their teams. They demonstrate to the importance of research being carried out at INRS in the fields of health, environment, energy, nanotechnology, telecommunications, and social sciences,” stated INRS Director General Daniel Coderre.
