INRS: Again Canada’s top university for research intensity

INRS has once again come out number 1 among Canadian universities for research intensity (sponsored research income per researcher), based on the latest data from Re$earch Infosource Inc., which reports on the research performance of Canadian universities.

According to the organization’s Top 50 list, the average grant funding per professor was $386,500, putting INRS in first place among Canadian universities ahead of the University of Toronto ($377,300), McGill University ($331,400), the University of Alberta ($329,100), and Université de Montréal ($281,300). The data also shows that INRS received total research grants amounting to $59 million.

 “These results attest to the research excellence of our professors and their teams in sectors that are strategic for our society,” said INRS director general Daniel Coderre. “The world-class research facilities at INRS have also created an extraordinary intellectual climate that attracts the best professors, postdoctoral interns, and master’s and doctoral students.”
