Project description<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Entotechnologies are a nature-inspired solution to bioconvert low-value agri-food by-products into food or high-value products (proteins, lipids, fertilizers). Associate Professor L. H\u00e9nault-Ethier is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to do research on (1) acceptability and inclusion rates of different types of waste from agri-food circular economy in the diet of yellow mealworms and (2) the value of livestock by-products (manure, exuviae, etc.) in agriculture (fertilizer, crop protection, etc.). These research activities will be carried out in collaboration with different groups of students, trainees and academic and industrial partners. The postdoctoral fellow will also coordinate laboratory activities, participate in the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and finalize publications already underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with INRS salary scale for postdoctoral fellows ($48,543). This one-year postdoctoral fellowship is renewable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Required qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  • PhD in a field related to the project<\/li>
  • Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles (excellent written skills in English)<\/li>
  • Interest in the circular economy, optimization of organic waste management, insects and entomophagy, and agriculture<\/li>
  • Strong ability to acquire new knowledge, build and manage large databases, perform statistical analysis, produce quality graphics and interpret research results<\/li>
  • Valid driver’s licence<\/li>
  • Experience in laboratory research and\/or field work is essential<\/li>
  • Experience in coordinating scientific activities is an asset<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
