This instrument will have the unique capability to follow irreversible dynamics by first acquired an encoded snapshot and then by reconstructing the movie of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research tasks mainly include (1) design of the system and simulation of imaging model, (2) fabrication, test, and optimization of the new instrumentation, and (3) application of this system to study irreversible dynamics, such as ultrafast laser-induced phase transitions, carrier dynamics in quantum materials, and chemical reactions. This interdisciplinary project provides a great opportunity to learn advanced knowledge and technical know-how of electron microscopy, computational imaging, ultrafast laser optics, and quantum materials. Experience with electron microscopes, ultrafast lasers, optical imaging, or image reconstruction techniques is desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Scholarship<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the candidate will be assured throughout their graduate studies. Performance could be encouraged by bonuses. Nevertheless, the candidate is also invited to take advantage of the scholarship programs of the FRQNT, NSERC, etc. A scholarship supplement would be offered for those with an external scholarship.
