In particular, by using time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy as the principal technique, we will record how intense and long-wavelength laser pulses can reshape the electronic properties of Dirac-like and layered complex materials on femtosecond timescales. This study will be essential for developing the building blocks of future electro-optical and spintronic devices.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Research Area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium electronic properties of Quantum Materials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Research Environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/research\/research-facilities\/find-a-research-facility\/advanced-laser-light-source-laboratory\/\">Advanced Laser Light Source<\/a> (ALLS) laboratory at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/inrs\/research-centres\/energie-materiaux-telecommunications-research-centre\/\">\u00c9nergie Mat\u00e9riaux T\u00e9l\u00e9communications Research Centre<\/a> is a unique user facility for investigating femtosecond dynamics via a variety of ultrafast techniques. By detecting the angle of emission and kinetic energy of photoelectrons via an electron analyzer for each pump&amp;probe delay, we gain direct insights into dynamical electronic properties and collective excitations of complex quantum materials.
