INRS Professor made a remarkable contribution to the field of ceramic sciences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Federico Rosei is among 17 members of the American Ceramic Society to be awarded the prestigious title of Fellow for the year 2021. He is the only one of the new Fellows to be based in Canada.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor Federico Rosei from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) is among 17 members of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) to be awarded the prestigious title of Fellow for the year 2021, a first for INRS! The news was made public on June 15th<\/sup>, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am truly honored to receive this award, which recognizes my team’s efforts over the past 15 years on functional ceramic materials.\u201d <\/p>INRS Professor, Federico Rosei<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Professor Rosei, whose research focuses on the study of the relationship between structure and properties of nanomaterials, has been a member of ACerS for more than 15 years. To recognize his leadership, the same society had given him the title of “ACerS Global Ambassador” in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fellow designation recognizes ACerS members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to the ceramic arts or sciences, broad and productive scholarship in ceramic science and technology, conspicuous achievement in ceramic industry, or by outstanding service to the Society<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognition of this achievement will be given at the ACerS Honors and Awards Banquet at the society\u2019s 123rd<\/sup> annual meeting on Monday, October 18, 2021, in Columbus, Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Recognizing an international career<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An internationally renowned researcher, Professor Rosei has published more than 390 articles, has been invited to speak at more than 335 international conferences, has given over 240 seminars and colloquia, over 60 professional development lectures and 40 public lectures in 48 countries on all continents. Twenty-eight of his former group members are themselves professors in 14 countries, including five in Canada. His research has already earned him a number of awards, medals and distinctions. He is indeed a Fellow of several Academies (including the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the European Academy of Sciences, the Academia Europaea, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts) and a Fellow of several other societies, including the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America, AAAS, SPIE, ASM and Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Rosei, former director of the \u00c9nergie Mat\u00e9riaux T\u00e9l\u00e9communications Research Centre<\/a>, holds the Canada Research Chair (Senior) in Nanostructured Materials and the UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
