The Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) anticipates an in-person autumn trimester.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As announced by the Minister of Higher Education, Danielle McCann on Monday, May 31, training and educational activities are expected to resume in person, without social distancing, for the autumn trimester beginning next September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The easing of restrictions is, nevertheless, conditional to a stable epidemiological situation and a 75% full vaccination rate (two doses) for individuals between 16 and 29 years old. If this objective is not met, certain measures will be maintained, notably wearing a mask and social distancing (one metre).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INRS strongly encourage its community to get vaccinated with the two required doses. A document<\/a> from the Quebec government provides information and answers to questions concerning vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Shift to orange zone<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fieldwork that requires travel between areas may be undertaken provided governmental guidelines<\/a> are followed. Laboratory research or internships that require the use of INRS facilities may continue if public health guidelines is followed, that is, social distancing of two metres and wearing a surgical mask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curfew has been lifted in all regions classified as being in the orange zone. Official authorization to move around campus buildings, after curfew, is no longer required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although non-essential travel is once again allowed in orange zone areas, working from home continues to be prioritized by INRS for its employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indoors, wearing a surgical mask continues to be mandatory for all members of the INRS community, at all times on all campuses. Surgical masks are provided free of charge to all members of the INRS community at the entrance of all campuses. It can only be removed for eating, drinking, and when the person is alone in a room with the door closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
