{"id":44769,"date":"2013-04-25T21:40:31","date_gmt":"2013-04-26T01:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/?p=44769"},"modified":"2021-02-02T21:40:50","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T02:40:50","slug":"federico-rosei-elected-as-fellow-of-the-australian-institute-of-physics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/news\/federico-rosei-elected-as-fellow-of-the-australian-institute-of-physics\/","title":{"rendered":"Federico Rosei elected as Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/research\/professors\/federico-rosei\/\">Federico Rosei<\/a>, director of the INRS Energy Materials Telecommunications Research Centre, has been elected as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics in recognition of his breakthroughs in the field of physics and their applications over the past ten years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/rosei_federico_2.jpg\" alt=\"\">Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dev.inrs.ca\/english\/federico-rosei\">Rosei<\/a> is a world-renowned researcher with extensive experience in the fabrication, processing, and characterization of organic and inorganic nanomaterials. As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca\/chairholders-titulaires\/profile-eng.aspx?profileId=1106\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Organic and Inorganic Materials<\/a>, he explores the fundamental questions of nanoscience and addresses the challenges of this fast-growing and highly promising field of scientific and technological innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an active member of the science community both locally and internationally, Professor Rosei has received many honours over his career for the remarkable contribution his research has made to a number of fields. He received the 2011 <a href=\"http:\/\/rsc-src.ca\/en\/fellows\/medals-awards\/rsc-medals-awards#Rutherford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Rutherford Commemorative Medal for Chemistry<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/rsc-src.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Society of Canada<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humboldt-foundation.de\/web\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Alexander von Humboldt Foundation<\/a>\u2019s 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emt.dev.inrs.ca\/actualites\/le-professeur-federico-rosei-de-inrs-laureat-du-prix-friedrich-wilhelm-bessel-2010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel <\/a>Award. He is a <em>Fellow <\/em>of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eic-ici.ca\/index_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Engineering Institute of Canada<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">American Association for the Advancement of Science<\/a> as well as the United Kingdom\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iop.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Institute of Physics<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rsc.org\/\">Royal Chemistry Society<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iom3.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theiet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute of Engineering and Technology<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nano.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute of Nanotechnology<\/a>.
