He has been invited to become a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waceramics.org\/appointees.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">member<\/a>of the prestigious World Academy of Ceramics as an Academician in the Science class.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"242\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/NEWS_Federico-Rosei-becomes-Academician-of-the-World-Academy-of-Ceramics_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/NEWS_Federico-Rosei-becomes-Academician-of-the-World-Academy-of-Ceramics_01.jpg 640w, https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/NEWS_Federico-Rosei-becomes-Academician-of-the-World-Academy-of-Ceramics_01-300x113.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Rosei, who holds the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dev.inrs.ca\/actualites\/nouvelle-chaire-recherche-canada-en-materiaux-nanostructures-inrs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Materials<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emt.dev.inrs.ca\/recherche\/chaires-groupes-reseaux\/matecss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage<\/a>, is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking research in the synthesis and characterization of various classes of nanoscale functional materials. His work has led to major advances in solar, optoelectronic and biomedical technologies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His work has been acclaimed through numerous instances of peer recognition, both nationally and internationally. For example, Dr. Rosei recently received the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emt.dev.inrs.ca\/actualites\/professeur-federico-rosei-prix-ingenieur-exceptionnel-de-lieee-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Outstanding Engineer Award from IEEE Canada<\/a>, the President\u2019s Fellowship for Distinguished Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emt.dev.inrs.ca\/actualites\/le-professeur-federico-rosei-de-inrs-remporte-le-prix-john-c-polanyi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John C. Polanyi Award<\/a>\u00a0from the Chemical Institute of Canada, and a Fulbright Chair at the University of California, Los Angeles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Rosei will receive his Academy diploma on June 5, 2018, during the inaugural session of the 14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0International Ceramics Congress to be held in Perugia, Italy. He was one of 20 candidates selected from around the world by the World Academy of Ceramics in 2017.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 1987 in Italy, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waceramics.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Academy of Ceramics<\/a>\u00a0aims to promote progress in the field of ceramics.
