If this happens, please contact the Finance Department (<a href=\"mailto:finances@dev.inrs.ca\">finances@dev.inrs.ca<\/a>) to pay the amount owing or work out a payment plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International students will be unable to register if one of the following documents is due to expire before the end of term: CAQ, study permit, RAMQ card (if the student has one).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong><span style=\"color:#801336\" class=\"tadv-color\">2. <\/span>Choose your courses and activities<\/strong>. When you register in the ID\u00c9 academic portal, it is possible to consult the available courses. Course descriptions are also available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/les-etudes\/programmes-d-etudes\/repertoire-des-programmes-d-etudes\/\">Find a graduate program directory<\/a> (available in French only). You can suspend your studies for a maximum of three terms (exluding <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/research\/research-and-commercialization\/equity-diversity-and-inclusion\/financial-support-during-parental-leave\/\">parental leave<\/a>). Talk to your research supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> A leave of absence affects the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/studies\/scholarships-and-financial-aid\/\">support<\/a> you receive and your ability to work if you are a temporary resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Changes and withdrawals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As long as you act by the deadlines indicated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/studies\/registars-office\/university-calendar\/\">academic calendar<\/a>, you can change your registration and get a refund, or withdraw from classes without failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Academic year<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An acadmic year is divided into three terms: fall, winter, ans summer. So it\u2019s important to make sure you have all the information you need, starting with the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/studies\/registrars-office\/guides-to-success-in-higher-education\/\" class=\"broken_link\">Guide to graduate studies<\/a>. In addition to walking you through your first steps at university, it also tells you how to approach each stage of your academic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open communication with your research supervisor is key to success. It\u2019s normal for your opinions to differ from time to time or for misunderstandings to occur, but it\u2019s important to be able to talk about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event of a dispute, or if you are having trouble communicating, notify your program director.
