Its members, from several complementary research areas, are able to identify endocrine disruptors, analyze their presence in the environment and better understand their effects on human and environmental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Leaders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/research\/professors\/valerie-langlois\/\">Val\u00e9rie Langlois<\/a>, director of ICEDA and professor at INRS<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/research\/professors\/isabelle-plante\/\">Isabelle Plante<\/a>, professor, co-director of ICEDA and professor at INRS<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Context<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Endocrine disruptors are commonly found in pharmaceuticals, household products and other environmental contaminants. Over the years, a growing number of studies have shown that these substances can alter the production of hormones that play a vital role in the development of living organisms and of diseases, notably in humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Research program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ICEDA promotes international collaborations between researchers interested in the study and analysis of endocrine disruptors from an interdisciplinary perspective. ICEDA has more than 100 members in Canada, the United States, France, Spain, Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands and Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research program focuses on environmental health, human health, water treatment, analytical chemistry, epidemiology and environmental policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By bridging the gap between academic research, policy-makers and the public, ICEDA seeks to provide the population with informed responses regarding the risks associated with endocrine disruptors in order to better protect future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\"
