MATECSS is conceived to strengthen both North-South and South-South partnerships. It will build capacity by training PhD students from developing countries in Canada, and through the web-based delivery of courses directly to students in developing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNESCO Chair on Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage (MATECSS) is part of a North-South\/South-South initiative to promote access to sustainable energy for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chair\u2019s scientific and technical program is designed to take up the challenge of &nbsp;making sustainable energy available for all through knowledge transfer and advanced training. The program calls for visiting professors, international workshops, and student exchanges to provide top-notch training on emerging energy technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MATECSS Chair will also offer scholarships and financial assistance for doctoral students from developing countries, either at the Centre or at their own institutions through online courses and scientific and technological transfer activities. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professors at the <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/inrs\/research-centres\/energie-materiaux-telecommunications-research-centre\/\">\u00c9nergie Mat\u00e9riaux T\u00e9l\u00e9communications<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.inrs.ca\/en\/inrs\/research-centres\/eau-terre-environnement-research-centre\/\">Eau Terre Environnement<\/a> research centres will be involved, along with researchers from partner universities in over ten countries in Africa, the Americas, and Asia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex
