Turning ideas into reality: The promotion of basic and applied research and the transfer of knowledge and technology is essential to INRS\u2019s success and contributes significantly to the advancement of society as a whole.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our faculty members<\/a>, students<\/a>, and postdoctoral fellows<\/a> are all committed to disseminating the high-level research being conducted in Quebec in their fields to the rest of the world. For years now, our outstanding faculty have helped make INRS one of the most research-intensive universities in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our researchers work in partnership<\/a> with industry, practice settings, and governments. These collaborations generate advances in fundamental research, new technological applications and tools, and new start-ups<\/a>. A fresh new generation of scientists is ready to tackle the big challenges of the future and innovate in areas<\/a> such as water, Earth sciences, human and environmental health, biotechnology, telecommunications, green energy, nanotechnology, cities, and populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To maximize the benefits derived form inventions for their authors, the Research and Commercialization team helps faculty and students navigate the steps involved in promoting and commercializing their findings, from writing grant applications and monitoring awards to negotiating partnership and licensing agreements and managing intellectual property portfolios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
