The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary research program at INRS\u2019s<br>Urbanisation Culture Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Research Centre in Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INRS has a set of measures in place to ensure equality of employment access and employment equity. The Institute invites women, visible minorities, ethnic minorities, Indigenous people, and people with disabilities to apply and encourages candidates to identify themselves as such in their applications so that the selection committees can take this into account. Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Main duties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To develop, within the framework of the centre\u2019s multidisciplinary programs, innovative research activities relating to societal challenges in housing, particularly regarding one or more of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Human settlements, lifestyles, and cohabitation<\/li><li>Socioeconomic diversity in human habitats (development of mixed residential areas)<\/li><li>The financialization and commodification of the housing sector<\/li><li>Gentrification<\/li><li>Community housing projects (social and affordable housing)<\/li><li>Residential inequality and precarity<\/li><li>Securing research funding through external grants from public and private organizations or in collaboration with partners from all walks of life<\/li><li>Participating in training activities, particularly those that are part of the centre\u2019s graduate programs, and in the supervision of students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff<\/li><li>Contributing to INRS\u2019s national and international influence<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-b39a0fa7-4fc2-4bf6-a164-3364c69d43d2\"><br>Requirements and skill sets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Doctorate in social sciences in a field or discipline such as urban studies, sociology, geography, urban planning, or political science<br>\u2022 Aptitude for empirical research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed)<br>\u2022 Extensive knowledge of the various housing programs in existence in the province of Qu\u00e9bec<br>\u2022 A record of scientific production that demonstrates initiative and originality of thought<br>\u2022 Ability to train and supervise graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff in the social<br>sciences, particularly in urban studies<br>\u2022 Aptitude for fundamental research, collaborative research, and knowledge mobilization, supported by a list of publications, particularly in peer-reviewed journals<br>\u2022 Ability to work as part of a team or national or international network, as well as within a multidisciplinary group and in partnership with representatives of different organizations<br>\u2022 Demonstrated capacity to get research funding<br>\u2022 Leadership qualities and experience leading a research team (a plus)<br>\u2022 Postdoctoral research experience (a plus)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Language of work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The working language is French.
